Candlestick

In finance, a candlestick refers to a specific type of chart used to represent the price movements of an asset over a given time period. Each candlestick provides a visual summary of four key price points: the open, close, high, and low prices of the asset during that period.

The body of the candlestick indicates the range between the opening and closing prices, while the wicks or shadows highlight the highest and lowest prices reached. If the closing price is higher than the opening price, the candlestick is typically filled or colored green, indicating bullish sentiment. Conversely, if the closing price is lower, the candlestick may be colored red, indicating bearish sentiment.

Candlestick charts are valuable tools for traders and investors, as they allow for quick visual analysis of price trends and potential reversal patterns. By interpreting these patterns, market participants can make informed decisions on buying or selling assets based on historical price behavior and market sentiment.
