Global Ledger

A global ledger in cryptocurrency is a decentralized database that records all transactions across a network of computers. This ledger is a public record of every transaction that has ever taken place on the network, and is stored in a series of blocks, linked together in a chain.

Each block contains a list of transactions that have been verified by network participants, and once a block is added to the chain, it cannot be altered or deleted. This ensures the integrity and security of the ledger, as any attempt to tamper with the data would require the consensus of the majority of network participants.

The global ledger is often referred to as the blockchain, and it serves as the backbone of many cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. It provides a transparent and reliable way to track and verify transactions, without the need for a central authority. By allowing users to access and contribute to the ledger, the global ledger helps to ensure the trust and decentralization of cryptocurrency transactions.
