Hedera Hashgraph

Hedera Hashgraph is a decentralized public network that enables developers to build secure, fast, and fair decentralized applications (dApps). It uses a unique consensus algorithm called Hashgraph to achieve high throughput and low latency, making it suitable for real-time applications.

The network is governed by a council of leading organizations from various industries, ensuring stability and security. Users can access the network through a cryptocurrency called HBAR, which is used to pay for transactions and secure the network through staking.

Hedera Hashgraph aims to address some of the scalability and security issues faced by traditional blockchain networks. By using a directed acyclic graph (DAG) data structure instead of a linear blockchain, transactions can be processed asynchronously, increasing efficiency. Additionally, the Hashgraph consensus algorithm does not require mining, making it more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
