Node Discovery

Node Discovery refers to the process of finding and connecting with other nodes on a cryptocurrency network. Nodes are essentially computers that communicate with each other to maintain a shared ledger of transactions, known as the blockchain. By discovering and connecting with other nodes, a node can stay updated on the latest transactions and blocks on the network.

When a new node joins the network, it needs to find other nodes to connect to in order to start receiving and relaying information. Typically, this is done through a process called bootstrapping, where the new node randomly connects to a few initial nodes on the network. From there, it can request a list of more nodes and continue to expand its connections.

Node Discovery is essential for the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies, as it ensures that there are multiple copies of the blockchain distributed across a network of nodes. This redundancy helps to maintain the security and integrity of the blockchain by preventing any single point of failure.
