Pi Network is a digital currency project that allows users to mine and earn Pi coins using their smartphones. It was created by a group of Stanford graduates with the aim of creating a more accessible and user-friendly form of cryptocurrency. Unlike traditional cryptocurrencies that require expensive equipment and large energy consumption for mining, Pi Network uses a unique consensus algorithm called Stellar Consensus Protocol to validate transactions.
Users can earn Pi coins by simply logging into the app once a day to prove their identity and help secure the network. This process, known as mining, does not require any special hardware or technical knowledge, making it accessible to a wider audience. Pi Network is still in the development phase and its value is not yet tradable on major exchanges. However, the team behind the project has ambitious plans to create a decentralized marketplace where users can spend their Pi coins on goods and services.
