Unstaking

Unstaking refers to the process of withdrawing funds from a staking contract in a cryptocurrency network. When a user participates in staking, they lock up their funds in a smart contract to support network operations and earn rewards. However, if they want to withdraw their funds for any reason, they must go through the unstaking process.

During unstaking, the user typically needs to wait for a certain period of time before they can access their funds again. This waiting period, known as the unbonding period, serves as a security measure to prevent malicious actors from immediately withdrawing their funds and destabilizing the network.

Once the unbonding period has passed, the user can withdraw their funds from the staking contract and use them as they see fit. Unstaking allows users to have flexibility with their funds while still participating in network validation and earning rewards.
