The public key is available to everyone and can be used to encrypt messages or data. However, only the intended recipient with the corresponding private key can decrypt the message. In the context of cryptocurrency, public key cryptography is used to secure transactions. Each user has a public key, which is their wallet address, and a private key, which is used to access their funds. When a user wants to send cryptocurrency to another user, they use the recipient’s public key to encrypt the transaction. Only the recipient’s private key can decrypt the transaction and access the funds. This method ensures that transactions are secure and only accessible to the intended recipient.
